VICTORY
trumpet your victory upon me
lay claim to this gnarled body
take the husk and feel it crumble
to dust between your fingers
the ashes rising to meet
the silver clouds so that I may
skitter away across the sky
as you exhale out a thousand apologies
weighed down by a heart of gold.
