I Met an Abandoned God
I saw him,
A lonesome existence,
Underneath an ancient pomegranate tree.
His chlorophyll-green eyes glowed
With the faintest of iridescence
As they gazed at the dim horizon.
And I had no choice,
But to be caught by his gaze.
His auburn hair
Glimmered with the shallow light
Of the dusk.
Cloaked in a clear robe,
His eyes widened
when he realized I could perceive him.
He slowly grabbed a pomegranate
And beckoned me closer.
He consumed the tender seeds,
Nectar drips from his chin
Before he appressed us together.
His warm fingertips carefully traced
The curvature of my spine.
Intoxicated,
I had no choice
But to be in complete rapture
As I tasted the sweet ambrosia
Off of his succulent lips.
He slowly pulled away,
A gentle smile upon his face.
His chlorophyll-green eyes glowed
With the faintest of iridescence
Before he whispered his final words,
“Remember me”.
