symphony of silence
There was the symphony of silence
And the streets of Lko lied empty
Yes I walked through them. I searched for everyone we had lost. I feared I couldn’t reach any higher or go any further
So hard to finish the story now.
When you are down by the flume, sometimes you can’t carry yourself together and all you can do is to make your love be known
The elms covered the doorways. I had nowhere to go. Yes I knew this is home. Home I never returned from war. The avenues lied without the people . I couldn’t sing anymore. Yes I let my heart reach out and tell them there is love still inside. That this is a poem for you all.
I tried holding myself back. But there was the symphony of silence wailing in resistance. I tried to find my way through this infernal land. Yes, we are broken, isolated, in disparity. But songs can be sung, poems can be written. We’ll let our pejorative echo through these city walls. We’ll let our heart reach out.
As mighty Lko, she sleeps awhile now
