Groceries in the Time of COVID-19

empty smilers

float like motes

in the sunlit

grocery store

smiles are free

they have

strawberries

today, and there

is pasta

(groceries in gilead)

every trip

is the click

of a hammer

in a chamber

no bullets fired

we can’t

stay lucky

forever
